Herbs for Cellulite?

Question
I noticed you mentioned herbs as something you could offer advice with. I was wondering if you knew of any herbs that reduce or help the appearance of cellulite? Thanks!

Answer
Witch hazel and horsetail can be used to tighten and improve the tone of the skin. The spongy bulges that appear during the onset of cellulite can be reduced by utilizing red vine birch leaves and butcher's broom.  These herbs draw water from the cells and help reduce the cellular volume.

Applying poultices or hot ivy compresses two or three times a day helps to dissolve the fat cells and to effectively flush away the excess fat from the body.  It does this by increasing the circulation to the area. A hot compress can be prepared by soaking a cotton cloth in an fresh ivy leaves infusion which is boiled for 15 minutes in a quart of water.  An effective substitute can be made by using crushed seeds of fenugreek in a poultice instead of ivy leaves.

Thank you for your question, Laura.  I hope that my answer was helpful.
