margarine/butter

Question
Hi
I have a friend that is the same age as me,51,but he is skinny as a rail while I am portly.
We are both active and play on the same soccer team, drink the same amout of beer.
I try to keep my calories low,but cant lose weight. He never gains.
One thing I have noticed is he doesnt use butter or margarine.
I slather it on toast and potatoes.
If I quit doing that would it help?
I use a good margarine with non hydrogenated cold pressed olive, canola oil etc.

Answer
Hi Barry,

Reducing the amount of butter will definitely help although I am sure there are other very important factors that will need to be addressed. Using butter instead of margarine is much healthier as it is more natural, however, use it sparingly. Even using margarine liberally will have a negative effect on your health.

My advise would be to look at what you eat on a regular basis, as I would guess that your metabolic rate is lower than your friends.

Both of you would benefit from adding high quality lean protein to your daily diets- you would lose the excess flab and he would gain lean muscle.

For more information on how to simply get the necessary nutrients into your daily food intake have a look at my site: www.thinkslimntrim.org/information

If you find that useful , just fill in the survey and I can offer you a free body analysis and consultation.

All the best
