Answer
With all the health clubs and exercise equipment promotions come airbrushed photos of models that make up a limited portion of the world抯 population.   The ads claim that with enough work and of course money paid to them to help you, you can have this very same body.

The truth is that for the most part, people just aren抰 built to show muscle mass this way.

Before you set your goals on a 6 pack, check out your closest relatives.  If you抮e a male, does your father, uncle, brother or grandfather have flat, defined abdomens?  Or did they ever?  If not ?then you probably don抰 have your muscles genetically placed close enough to the surface of the skin to show this ripple effect upon focused exercise to define them.   You may get a flat abdomen, or even a concave one (where it curves inward), but a year of daily workouts will not likely produce more than this.

Though you can be the best you can be for your heredity and exercise and fitness is still important ?if you want to look like a health club ad ?you might just need Photoshop rather than memberships.
