weight loss and vitamins

Question
I joined Curves in May and between that and dieting and walking every night; have lost about 30 pounds.  I am 5'3" and now weigh 119.  I am a vegetarian but have been eating some chicken for the protein.  I do eat diary.  I seem to be catching every virus, cold , flu that is going around.  I take low dose Iron and a low dose aspirin, calcium.  I am wondering if there is a good multivitamin out there I should be taking that might help me or anything else that might help with my immune system.
thank you

Answer
Hi Donnaleigh,
Taking a vitamin c supplement might help you. I would try to get it in powder form rather than tablet as it will be better absorbed. Also, be sure to keep it from getting too much air and light as both will lower its potency.
Beyond that, since you started in May have you taken any "time off" from exercise? Often when people get hit with the desire to exercise they can sometimes go overboard and think that more is better. With my clients every 9-12 weeks of consistent exercise they get a week where they reduce their exercise to 2 days at most and of lighter activity. Assuming of course that they're working out 4-5 times per week on a consistent basis. This might be a culprit of the problem for you if you've been exercising a lot. Exercise is a stress on the body albeit a good stress too much without rest can weaken the immune system.

Hope that helps.
