Picky picky

Question
Hi there, My name is Raeanne and I'm 19. Since I was a kid I've always been a picky eater and well I'm healthy...but the foods I'm eating are starting to give me a spare tire. I don't want it to get any worse. Things in my everyday diet are: lots of pasta, cottage cheese/regular cheese, perogies, just a whole bunch of crap. The only meat I'll eat is breaded chicken tenders and baccon. I like fruit..not so much veggies only carrots. I know most of you are against store bought foods/frozen foods.. but we can't afford "natural" things... is there any brands or suggestions?? I'm getting desparate to change my diet and still like it.

p.s. when I mean picky...its almost a disorder. I can't control it.

Answer
Dear Raeanne, I'm not against store bought foods, so if you find a frozen meal that contains all the food groups, buy it. Tuna fish, eggs, soup, canned fruit, frozen vegetables, low fat dairy, and whole grain breads are all very affordable and healthy. If you can afford fast food, bagged snacks, and other unhealthy foods, then you can afford healthy foods. Write down your goals and stick to them. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
