Supplements and weightloss

Question
I was wondering what the best supplement to take to raise my metabolism throughout the day and thereby hopefully encourage weight loss.

I am 26, 5.10, and currently seesawing between 16.5 and 17 stone and dont seem to be able to get below this. I never seem to have time to eat breakfast in the morning and at lunch there are only limited cooking facilities so I normally end up having beans on toast soup or a sandwich at about 14:00. Dinner is usually a reasonably well balanced meal. I try to get to the gym but admitedly only manage once or twice a week. My job is entirely desk based.

I know that people who smoke / drink lots of coffee often lose weight but I was hoping there might be a supplement of some sort that can have the same benefits without the negatives?

Answer
Hi Stephen,
I think you just answered your own question!    In order to raise your metabolism and stimulate weight loss, you need to eat healthy meals frequently, and work out (both cardio , weights, or sports) consistently, most days of the week.   This is the only way to get lasting, sustainable, healthy results.   I can not recommend any supplement that will raise your metabolism, because even if it did, it would only raise it 5% or so, which really isn't worth taking the supplement at all!
