Weight Gain & Muscle Mass Supplements

Question
I'm 52 yr. old male, handicapped and I've had no teeth for over a year and a half.  I've lost a lot of weight and I'd like to find a supplement or something to help me gain weight and put on some muscle.  I can do some exercise and my diet will soon improve when I get my new teeth next month.  I need something to help me get stronger because my muscles are just starting to slightly atrophy.  Any advice on a good supplement to use for say a month or two, until I get my teeth and I'm able to eat more.  Thank you.  Scott

Answer
Hi Scott,

If you have a GNC nearby stop in, they have weight gain powders which you use with weight training. These types of supplements are high in calories so make sure you stay active while using them. I would also use a multivitamin and an antioxidant supplement as well, a greens supplement will also help you get extra nutrients.

Try juicing as well. Vanilla yogurt, fresh berries, whey protein, and OJ can make a very nice smoothie. Carrots, tomatoes, apples is another good combo for nutrition. You can add a greens powder for even more nutrition.

Good luck,

Dan Haley, CNC
