I have always been overweight,with the added bonus of bloating and flatulence.
I recently cut out dairy after a late night bowl of ice cream caused me to explode.
I noticed an immediate improvement,and even lost a bit of weight.
Thinking there was a connection,I also cut out fats-margerine,dressings.
Now I am actually losing weight (slowly).
I never was a big eater and in fact hovered around 2000 calories a day,but I did pile on the margerine,mayo,etc.
I thought I was just dairy intolerant,but have you heard of someone being fat intolerant?
My Dad and uncle were like me (before the switch) and they both died of colon cancer in their 40's.

Hello Bud,

Dairy is a leading cause of food sensitivities and allergies. Many dressings contain dairy, especially creamy dressings.

I have not heard of fat intolerance. Cutting margarine is an excellent choice as it contains hydrogenated oils (trans fat), shortening also contains these damaging fats.

You need fat to stay healthy. Focus on extra virgin olive oil, flax oil, or hemp oil. Use these to drizzle over vegetables or in salad dressing; they can be easily damaged and oxidized while exposed to heat. Cook with coconut oil, or avocado oil, even some butter; these oils can withstand high temps without damage. Eat salmon, avocados, wheat germ, and milled flax seed (over yogurt or cereal) for healthy fats. Smart Balance is a good spread, health food stores often carry a brand called Spectrum that is non-hydrogenated.

Keep saturated fats to a minimum, avoid all hydrogenated oils.

To avoid colon cancer make sure you are eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, 25 grams of fiber (or more) a day, and eat the right fats. Also cut way back on red meat, and deli meats.
