Question
hi there...i am really on a good diet and have lsot about 5 kilos slowly....i was just wondering (i only have about 1 -2km to go) and would like to encompase one night of being able to have a few "diet soda and vokda" drinks. Every day i do 30 or so minutes of excersie, eat salads and tuna, 12 nuts for snacks, apple, 100g meat at dinner and some berries with yogurt for dessert. I feel pretty good about my strict and healthy diet. If i do this 6 days out of 7. will have a night (maybe 3, maybe 5 or maybe 7) drinks out one night "diet drinks or wine" totally effect my weight loss and i will just maintain...or can i continue to still loose a bit? also - how long after drinking does acetate stay in the body and stop fat metabolism from occuring?? does this mean after a sat night of drinks, all sunday my body cant loose weight?? thanks for you help....cheers katie

Answer
Hi Katie,

If you had said you wanted to have a couple of drinks on a night out, I would say it is fine. But 5-7 sodas and spirits will probably halt your weightloss over time and also give you internal effects from the excessive alcohol in one go.

The alcohol is basically made of sugars and that in turn, is fat. Diet sodas and spirits have the most amount (diet in sodas does not mean less sugars/sweeteners).

Depending on your genes the effect of the alcohol can last as long as 2 days.

Sorry, but the only way out is to enjoy your drink but have only a couple- it depends on what you are more concerned or motivated to do.

All the best

Nevil

P.S. If the alcohol gives you a 'buzz' try our completely healthy alternative called LiftOff- available at www.thinkslimntrim.org/shoponline
