Question
Hi,
Well u know usually exercise is done to either Increase mass, decrease weight or fitness
1.I want to know whether it is better to exercise before meal or after if somone want to
a. increse muscle mass
b. loose weight and
c. for fitness purpose
2.I want also to know the actions of different hormones insulin, glucagon etc on muscle protein and fat reserves during exercise done before and exercise done after meal.
3. Is is better to exercise (only jogging and pushups for fitness purpuse) in the morning before breakfast or after breakfast.

Well, it depends on what kind of exercise you are doing and for how long.  If 30 minutes in the morning, for example, it would be fine to eat before or after.  Some people don't like to exercise right after eating.  When you exercise, your body doesn't need insulin (your muscle cells use glucose without using insulin), so it's good to have some carbohydrates available if you are going to exercise for a long period of time.  Also, it's helpful to have lean protein after you exercise if you are trying to build muscle mass.  Weight loss happens when you burn more than you eat - so it doesn't matter (your total caloric intake is what matters).
