Wheat Germ vs. Whole Grain Wheat Bread?

Question
I've heard that i should eat Wheat Germ because it's healthy. i also heard that i should eat Whole Grain Wheat Bread because it's healthy. is there a difference between the two? if i'm already including Wheat Germ in my diet, is there any reason to also eat Whole Grain Wheat Bread?
Thanks!

Answer
Hello J.F.!

You should include both in your diet however, wheat germ has an edge on whole grain wheat bread because it's the 揾eart?of the wheat kernel - a concentrated source of several essential nutrients including Vitamin E, folate (folic acid), phosphorous, thiamin, zinc and magnesium.

Wheat germ adds a delicious taste and healthy crunch to virtually any recipe, and it's an easy way to add extra nutrition. Wheat germ can also replace up to 1/2 cup of the flour in recipes for muffins, breads, pancakes, and many other baked goods, making it even easier to work into your diet.

On the other hand,  whole wheat bread contains fiber and nutrients found in the full grain of wheat. You get at least 2g of fiber (if not more) per slice. That fiber helps you absorb the calories more slowly. You get about 65g calories and 12g carbs. What is really critical is that the higher fiber helps you absorb calories more slowly, so that your body can process them as they come.
