should i be worried bout fats in food?

Question
hi

after a 2 month vacation i have lost 6kg and gained back 2kg. so i hav dropped from being 64kg to 60kg (height around 170cm. age = 20 ). moreover for the past 5 years i have been stuck on 64kg given that i do not follow a diet, i eat atleast 3 meals a day and i eat large portions of anything and everything(but no junk food). now i am trying to gain muscle weight and i try to do workouts that do not include weights (push ups, chin ups..etc).
i know that muscles need proteins and i try to get proteins by natural means (mainly boiled eggs). questions:

1)should i worry about eatting fat or carbohydrtes and will they prevent\slow muscle gain? (fat in general from steak fat to egg yolk in boilded eggs)

2)should i continue with the workout i do or shall i involve weights (current workout: 20 chin ups, 30 pushups, 30 squats, 100 situps,30 dives, 30 body weight rows, 60 twists all in 40-50 mins.... 3 times a week(day-on day-off)and i soemtimes play squash twice a week)

3) what are the best natural sources of protein?

4) should i switch to protein shakes?

5) is it normal to be stuck ont he same weight for all this time?

i have been doing the workout mentioned for 2 months (but not contineous). i am a healthy person in general.. no drinking, no smoking.

i hope i was clear with all this info. i know i have the exact opposite "problem" than others but i just feel that it is strange to have the same weight for such a long time (runs in the family). if you have any advice on my diet or workout please feel free to comment
thank you
regards
yousef

Answer
Hi, Yousef

I can help some but for the majority of your questions, you're going to need to consult a nutritionist.

Your workout seem fine, but if you're not seeing progress, then I would make sure that you increase the weights you are lifting by no more than 10% each week.  You would want to stay at the same weight for a couple of weeks before increasing them.

Also, make sure you are taking enough days off because when you rest is when your muscles grow.

Check with the nutritionist for the best natural sources of protein and the safety of nutrition shakes because there are a lot bad products out there.

And you can be stuck at the same weight for awhile.  This may be an indication you are at a good weight for you.  But while you're increasing your muscle mass, you will notice changes in weight as your body recomposes itself and you lose body fat while gaining muscle.

Make sure you get your workouts to a consistent level (at least 4 days per week) and you will see changes faster.

I hope that helps.
