Cooking Vegetables

Question
QUESTION: When vegetables are cooked with other foods, are the nutrients then distributed to the other foods? One of my three sons is a veggie-phobic.

ANSWER: HA :)Thanks for the chuckle this is a new one.

Id tell him no just to ease his mind. People stress WAY to much over minutia and they are causing more damage doing so then the actual activity that they worry about in most cases.

In all honesty maybe a little but it would be VERY negligible. Were talking small amounts.

What is his problem with veggies if I may ask??

QUESTION: Well I thought that it was the texture, but after experimenting with practically every veggie possible, I'm at a loss for the root of the problem. He claims that he can taste a difference in foods that are cooked along with veggies, which was a ploy of mine to possibly reap some of the nutritional benefits. This has unfortunately not worked. He is not unhealthy, but I can't fathom that these are habits that will be easily broken later in life. My next step is to puree' the veggies and blend them with other foods(I've heard there's a recipe book out there about this). Maybe "Out of sight, Out of mind" may work, we shall see. Thanks for your advice.

Answer
Your right a lot of time is texture that people seem to have a problem with or even just he though you can blind fold them and they actually like the taste if they dont know what they are eating. The mind is a powerful thing.

I wish you luck, you might just try and teach him by example. Dont force things on him many times that's a big deal. Expose him to as much as possible but in a positive way.
