Stomach problems


Question
I am eating healthy as far as I can see, but everything I eat does something weird to my stomach lately.  I have been told I might have IBS and will be going to a Gastroenterologist soon.  Here what I ate yesterday and it hurt my stomach: Breakfast I had oatmeal and a banana.  For lunch I had a piece of Tilapia, rice, and boiled green peas.  In between lunch and supper I ate half a can of peaches.  Supper I had baked rosemary chicken and potatoes in olive oil and baked sweet potato with a small amount of butter and honey.  I wake up this morning and I have diarrhea and have gas problems all night long.  This is the regular type of meals I eat and I have a lot of nausea, gas, bloating, and just general discomfort in my stomach.  I stay away from dairy and most stuff I cook is not real greasy.  I try to eat a few servings of fruit and vegetables every day, but still have a lot of stomach problems.  Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Hi Adam,

My honest advice is to wait until you've seen the gastroenterologist, as from what you have said, there should be nothing to cause this.

If it were wheat (gluten) or dairy you would feel the affects soon after breakfast.

I can only assume it is something else you are eating/drinking or from a bug you've picked up previously. Think hard about when it first started and what you were doing previous to that date/time.

Sorry not to be able to offer you a solution but the only products I can suggest that can help are aloe vera juice and flora fibre. These help to soothe the digestive tract and give you the friendly bacteria that is essential to the digestion of food.
