toast,chips

Question
Phil
I dont eat any more, actually quite a bit less than the average person, but I have found I can lose a little weight if I cut out toast for breakfast, and potato chips, which I have on the weekend as a 'splurge'.
I think I got hooked on these as a kid.
I have a daughter that is chubby, and she shares the same taste for toast and potato chips.
Other than these we dont eat much for carbs-not into pasta, etc.
It might sound simplistic, but can toast and chips 'trigger' some people to store fat?
I know about low 'carbing',but only to gain when I eat these even if the total calorie intake for the day is average or less.

Answer
Bud yes toast and chips can have an added effect of helping to add weight. Both are very simple sugars. White bread actually boost your II higher then table sugar. It is a very simple carb as are white potatoes and could that with the fact they are fried. Its very fast simple calories that are pretty much void of any nutritional value with the exception of Calories.

Hope that helps,
Phil
