Less carbs, more good fats

Question
Hi Tanya,

I'm a healthy 36 year old female. I am well educated in healthy eating and proper nutrition. I take daily supplements, I eat fresh fruit and vegetables, and complex carbohydrates such as brown rice and steel cut oatmeal. I eat lean meat, plenty of fish, and very little red meat. I avoid refined carbohydrates like white flour and sugar. I eat moderate portions of food and I do not over eat. I drink about 2 litres of water every day.  I seem to be doing everything right. But I can't lose weight.

I have a BMI of 27.8. I haven't been exercising as regularly or vigorously as in the past, but I do make it to the gym several times a week.

Do you have any recommendations for me on what I can do differently to lose weight?

Thank you,
Lisa

Answer
Lisa,

You might want to further reduce your carbohydrate intake while increasing your good fats intake.  Add avocados, nuts, seeds, olives, tree nut oils, and full fat diary, which contains CLA that can shift your body weight set point toward burning fat for fuel.
