slowly gaining ,nothing works


Question
I am 49 yrs old and perimenopauseI walk quickly every day with my 7 monthold golden retriever pup or should I say he walks me,over the past year ive gained 15 pds I eat a sensable diet baked chicken rice salads,fruits I snack on popcrn and a brownie 3x a week (my weakness)but im not a couch potatoe.6 months ago I started riding my stationary bike 45min every day and decreased my calories alot not starving but no snacks,salad and 1 piece of baked chicken for dinner special K for breakfast, tea, lunchwas tuna on wheat bd or frait salad and a smidge of swiss cheese,lots of water carrots sticks,and broccoli  in a diet dressing for a snack. 2 months straight I didnt drop a pound .i simply gave up til now ive gained 3 more pounds doing nothing.whats up!!!!! HELP!!!!!  linda

Hi Linda,

When you hit 50, your metabolism drops. Boom, flop. Welcome to middle age. You can't do what you used to do and expect the same results.

Easy on the tuna, mercury poisoning is rampant.
