Loose skin

Question
Hi, i am 16 years old and have a problem with loose skin. The story goes, in 2006 i weighed 110kg's, it was in 2008 that i hit 83kg's and i am currently 77kg's. Great effort by me but i have lose skin from my belly button to just above my pubic area. I mean when i stand up it is barely noticable, but when i bend over like someone is about to sit on my back, then it is just hanging.

I need to know what kind of ab exercises and cardio i can do to tighten it up? I also please want to know if i need surgery because i would hate to get surgery at 16 years old.

This is the only place where i have loose skin, i used to have on my hips and arms but it is all tightened now since they're way easier to tighten then your belly button section.

Thanks, Joseph.

Answer
Dear Joseph, Skin is made to stretch, so give it time, you are young. You can firm and grow your muscles under the skin to fill the skin out while you are waiting for it to shrink back. Weightlifting, abdominal crunches, push-ups, leg lifts, are all good exercises to increase muscle mass. Excessive cardio will make you lose more weight, and if you are not eating enough calories, make you lose muscle mass. You are still growing and maturing, so depending on your height, you should be eating about 2000 calories per day or more to maintain your weight and grow new muscles.
