I'm so sick of being fat.  I'm 235, 5'4" and I just turned 45.  I'm fed up and so unhappy. Last week I would workout 30 minutes a day at just 5 minutes at a time on the Treadclimber.  I  watched what I ate, but lost about 4 #'s (not so much for the first week when I'm full of fluid).  Well over the weekend I was away, didn't exercise, ate a bit more than usual, but still watched what I ate and gained everything back.  I'm so upset now.  I'm starting Nutrisytem today(which I really don't like), but have lost interest AGAIN.  I just don't get it.  I want to lose 50 lbs fairly quick to get my life back.  Yeah, I know about losing slow, but I'm sick of hiding and not having a good life because of my weight.  What is wrong with me?  I have the most obscene sounding stomach - it grouls all the time.  So embarrassing. I feel like something is wrong, but no doc seems to think so.  I feel dairy stops my metabolism.  I know you lose slower as you age, but is there a way I can not be so discouraged so early on?  I went on a low carb diet at a clinic and lost 11 lbs in a week.  I want to be down 50 lbs by the May.  That isn't outrageous at 10 #/month.  I know my entire weight gain this weekend was fluid, but it still upsets me.  Will I ever make it? Is there anything I can look at on my end?  I've wondered about hormonal problems that might cause me to not lose weight, but again my doc doesn't agree.  I'm just so depressed.  Thx.

It ain't just you. I get what's wrong with me a lot. Feeling trapped, stuck is depressing. Once you get your body in motion you can start feeling more alive.

What is wrong is the empty food sold to you as real food. When you don't get what you need, you stay hungry and keep eating and think your appetite is your worst enemy.

There are a lot of pits around - a big one is diet sodas. People start to gain, they switch to sugar free junk, and gain more and think they have a thyroid problem. The problem is diet sodas stimulate your appetite.

When you get what you need, you don't overeat. You get the goodies from fresh produce, whole grains, a little protein foods and plain water. Eat all the fresh raw produce you want, pack a few RAW nuts to stay not humgry - being hungry LOWERS your metabolism - and after a month of NOT eating addictive junk, the cravings for flavored packing material goes away.

I hate diets and temporary tricks like nutrisystem because the long term failure rate is terrible. A person needs to get on a lifetime plan, not a thing you go on and off of.
