Retail and Weight Loss

Question
Hi,

I started working in retail this past Christmas and I've noticed that I've lost a lot of weight.  I'm a 21 year old female and I'm 5'3".  When I first started I weighed about 120 and since then I've lost 8 pounds.  This is not really unusual for me and my mother had the same problem when she was younger.  I would like to gain the weight back in a healthy way but right now I'm more concerned with not losing any more weight.  We usually only have half an hour for a break and I was thinking about trying Ensure.  Do you have any other recommendations for food or supplements that can help me maintain or gain weight?

Thanks,
Samantha

Answer
Samantha-

Great!! its awesome to get a question from someone wanting to be healthy and maintain weight as opposed to wanting to be unhealthy and get a six pack at all cost.

In your case what I would suggest is cheaper then ensure and more healthy. Get a basic protein drink like Optimum whey or American whey, bargain whey or MRP,

then have one of those and something like an apple, other fruit and a handful of nuts. Things like nuts are great healthy and give a BIG impact calorie wise do to the density of fat. and its healthy fat. Other things fish oil, olive oil, eggs, full fat dairy like cheese, milk etc. Lean toward your mats that are not as lean steaks, 80-85% hamburger etc. fatty fish.

Let me know if those help, some carb source could be great for you as well to give a caloric impact but not quite as healthy in many case as fat is if your not training at a high intensity
