40 pounds in 4 months

Question
QUESTION: hi im a 21 year old female and i was wondering how can i lose 40 pounds by my sister's wedding which is june 27 because if i don't i wont be in the wedding

ANSWER: Dear Melissa, To lose 10 pounds per month, or 2.5 pounds per week, can be an achievable goal. You will have to eat around 1200-1400 calories per day, and you will have to try to burn about 200 or more calories per day through exercise. Keep track of your intake, write down everything you eat and plan at least one hour of exercise per day. Healthy foods like chicken, fish, fruits, vegetables, and low fat dairy have lower calories so you can eat more. Choose fast foods and your entire daily calorie requirement could be used up in one meal. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com

QUESTION: how can i eat 1200 calories a day cause i really don't know how to count calories

Answer
Dear Melissa, When you eat a food, you look up how many calories are in it and you write that down. Example an apple has say 80 calories. At the end of the day, you should have a total of the calories you have eaten. Keep it under 1300 per day and you should lose weight provided you exercise. There are free calorie counters on line, calorie books, and free software to track what you eat. Search for them on the internet. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
