Nutrients to fight sleep deprivation

Question
hi,
does lack of sleep, such as only sleeping a few broken hours a night for a long period of time or not sleeping properly(from a baby waking me up every hour of the night), deplete me of any vitamins, minerals?  thnaks, gia

Answer
Though there's plenty of research showing that vitamin deficiency can cause sleep problems, little is known about the other way around. However, we do know that sleep deprivation results in impaired cognitive and physical performance as well as accelerated aging. We do know that these functions can be improved by proper nutrition. So, it's not unreasonable to conclude that we can counteract some of the harm done by sleep deprivation by these foods and nutrients:
