Foods to lower blood pressure

Question
If you can give me some tips on the best food and exercises that help lower blood pressure, that will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Sallie,
~Lowering blood pressure is really about keeping a balance in what you eat and do.

It can be a combination of food, drink and stress, or any one of these.
So, alcohol, smoking, saturated fats all raise blood pressure.

Great foods that help in lowering are soya based food, egg whites, oily fish, veg and fruit.

As you can see, it's pretty simple but stills needs a focus!

There are many supplements that help, but make sure you know where the ingredients come from and can talk to someone about the manufacturing process...all are not the same, and the cheapest are normally a complete waste of money.

For exercise, anything will help- but start gentle and work up. Always try to incorporate weights as this gives the heart a really good workout and helps to metabolise fat deposits.

Hope this helps.
