weight gain while asleep

Question
We have a big argument at work. Some people claim that just before you go to bed if you eat something with high calories, then weigh yourself and immediately go to sleep, then when you wake up in the morning you will weigh more than you did before sleeping. I think this is not possible since where would this extra weight come from? So my question is this, is it possible to weigh more on waking up in the morning than you did when you went to sleep?
Thanks, Ray

Answer
Ray-

Of course not this is impossible unless you somehow took in water and food through osmosis. Or maybe if you went o bed dehydrated and then slept in a bath of water you could soak up. You will wake up lighter we lose water out of our bodies over night just from breathing we also burn fuel, energy, calories just staying alive breathing let alone from our body regenerating damaged parts of us.

As an athlete I have a meal directly prior to going to slep and wake in the middle of the night and eat a snack and I routinely wake up 5 lb or more lighter.

You would have to take food, water something into the body to weight more.
