getting to my correct weight

Question
Hi, I was wondering if you could help me. I have been eatting much better(No more chips/pop/candy/cakes/cookies/fried foods) since about march/april this year and the idea of eatting better was to stay healthier longer and to get to my ideal weight...I now eat a diet high in fiber with lots of fresh fruits and vegtables little greasy foods and plenty of good protine's(eggs, fish, milk, chicken ect.). I am 5'4 and now 150 pounds I was I think 165 when I started, I have a medium/large bone structure and am wondering what my Ideal weight is? I am a landscaper and walk for miles each day around our work sites trimming/mowing grass that is my main exercise thou I did make a habit of walking my dogs daily for a total of 2-4 K each day and now do 60 proper crunches and 40 push ups each day as well I also someimes run around the property for 5-10 minutes at a time...as you can tell I get a fair amount of exercise. I just wanted to know my ideal weight(see ? above) and perhaps how I could get to that weight quicker and maintain it threw the winter this time(I do snow removal all winter but often sit waiting for it to snow). Thank you for any information or advice you can give.

Tara

Answer
Hi tara,

Unfortunately you are focusing on the wrong figures...and that can and will lead to failure in the future.

The figure you want to control is your body fat percentage. This will tell you if you have excess fat compared to muscle. We only use the weight to calculate how much lean muscle mass you have.
In order to stay healthy and at a great body shape you want to continue what you are doing, and also decrease any portions of wheat based foods such as pasta/breads.

If you have good muscle mass you will maintain a high metabolism and find it easy to but=rn off the excess calories during winter.

Hope this helps
