COD LIVER OIL

Question
what's the daily recommended dosage for adults?

Answer
There is no daily recommended dosage for cod liver oil from any scientific organization (such as the American Heart Association or the American Dietetic Association).  This is because the nutrients people supplement with cod liver oil can be found in so many other sources.

Different brands contain different amounts of nutrients depending on their processing.  I have heard that some brands are actually reducing the amount of vitamin A contained due to concerns about toxicity.

Recommendations go more by amount of vitamin A, amount of vitamin D, or amount of Omega 3 fatty acids, rather than "1 teaspoon" or other measured dosage, especially since the brands vary in their content.

I would suggest you examine the label for content of the nutrient you are searching to supplement to figure out how much of the oil to consume.
