Using Protein

Question
I would like to burn more calories and fat by building more muscles each time I go to the gym. Often times I only get there maybe once or twice a week, but I'd like to make it count. Protein seems to come in so many forms. Liquid, powder, and bar form. I prefer the bar form personally since it doesn't really taste like the protein flavor the powder has. Is there a best form to take protein in, and in what amounts? 20MG or 31MG bars is what I've taken in the past 30 minutes after each workout. Can one over do protein?

Answer
James-

Protein is just food just fuel. If I had you working with me you would get a simple whey protein supplement in powder form and use a scoop or two post training or simple go eat a meal that is high in protein like beef or chicken, fish etc post training.

The bars I would not recommend and for sure not for someone looking to lose weight. They are simply glorified candy bars with a bit of protein, many of them from poor sources like soy isolate.

Aim to get 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight and as much as you can from whole food sources. The rest get a simple whey protien and fill in the gaps.
