Omega-3: antiinflammatory and many more effects

Question
Hi,

Would taking three 1000mg Omega-3 pills/day be considered "excess"?

I would be taking this for 2 reasons:
1. Because it has anti-inflammatory properties.
2. Because I don't eat fish that often.

I am 30, and in good health.

What would be an ideal dosage?

Is it also true that people tend to gain weight while taking omega-3?

Thanks

Answer
Dear Matthew,

I have no simple answer to your question but I do have an article "Omega-3: overview of origin, classification, effects, and doses", which can help you to decide: http://brainfuels.com/2009/09/omega-3-overview-of-origin.html

Hope it helps,
