Weight/Fat loss

Question
I am 5'2" and about 117 pounds. I know that my weight is ok, but I have a slightly big stomach. I'm wondering what I could do to decrease my stomach fat. I also am part of a website that keeps track of everything you eat, and the nutrition facts of the food. Sometimes, I go over my limit on fat or carbs. I'm wondering if I should monitor that, or just worry about the total amount of calories.
Thank you.

Answer
Dear Elizabeth,
The only thing you can do to reduce stomach fat is to lose weight, even if it's just 3 or 4 pounds. Your body decides where it will store fat and there's nothing we can do to change that!

If you go over your limit on fats and carbs, does that mean you are under your limit for something else? Consider whether you are eating healthy or not. Do more fats come from added oils that you can limit? Do more carbs come from soda or candy that you can replace with something healthier like fruit or water? The total calorie intake is really what matters when you're watching your weight, but eventually eating too much fat or not enough protein may catch up with you healthwise.
