When to stop consuming food

Question

Before retiring to bed when is the best time to stop eating to a type B diabetic like me.

Answer
Dear Abdullah,

It doesn't really matter what time you eat, despite rumours about how bad it is to eat after sundown, after 9 pm, after dinner, etc. What matters is how much you eat. If you have a healthy snack worked into your meal plan and you retire several hours after you eat dinner, it makes sense to have another small source of carbohydrate and protein foods to maintain a steady blood sugar level prior to an extended period (7 or 8 hours during sleep) without food!
