Question
Hello,

I've been working on losing weight since ;uly 2009 and have dropped 76 pounds but just recently it seems I've hit a plateau. I work full time at a food court and am on my feet for 8 hrs a day serving members. My meals are the same everyday: coffee, mini wheats for breakfast, apple for snack, sandwich and fruit in yogurt for lunch, then a different meal for lunch. I try and get some extra exercise in but I'm such a busy person it gets hard sometimes. Do you have any suggestions as to how to get out of this plateau and to find out exactly how many calories I should be eating?? I'm 5'9, 25 yrs old and 225 pounds. According to my last calorie count it says 1500, 1700, 1800 and 2100 depending on which calorie counter I try. Please help me determine which one is most accurate. I'm also thinking its because I'm not eating the right number of calories I'm in this plateau. Any help would be truly greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much!!
Ashley

Answer
Ashley. Its mainly in what you are eating and then your activity.

Ill address activity first and keep it simple. just do something I dont care what at this point yes some are very much more effective then others BUT something anything is much more effective then nothing. make it habit, just do something 3 days a week starting at 15 minutes. make that habit and then you can progress.

Other the that in reality leanness is 90% what you put in your mouth. I can say 100% your not getting the nutrients your body requires. You are existing primarily on carbohydrates and lacking fats and protein in your diet. The TWO macronutrients, Unlike carbohydrates, the human body MUST have to even be healthy let alone optimal. You need to up your fat and protein intake with Real whole foods and drop all the mini wheats, and fruit yogurt etc and opt for real whole foods, meat eggs, poultry, fish, pork, nuts and oils etc things that are packed with nutrients and keep you full longer and then add on green leafy veggies, Limit the grain and sugars to near none and then add a few piece of whole healthy fruit a day. Its not low carb its controlled carb and a reliance on real whole foods and limit or eliminating simple processed carbs. This will have you burning more energy, with more energy preserving muscle and losing fat
