sea salt

Question
Greetings Laurie,
I have been told ( a couple of times)that sea salt will not make one hypertensive like table salt will and that you can load this up to your hearts desire. I find this a little hard to swallow.  (Yes, pun intended.)

Regards,
Steve

Answer
Dear Steve,

Good for you! Salt is sodium chloride, no matter what the source (mines, sea, ocean, kosher, etc) and sodium is the element that contributes to high blood pressure in many people. You can't eat all you want and expect the outcome to be different than eating salt from the grocery store or sodium from MSG in a Chinese restaurant.
