ADD, glucose tolerance, and stimulants

Question
Years ago I could drink plenty of Coke. About 10 tears ago i could not handle Coke and had to go onto Coke Light or what they call today coke zero or pepsi zero. As soon as I drink a glass or two of Pure coca cola i go all dizzy. Is this a blood sugar thing. I do not understand because my blood always checks out fine. Will this have an effect on stimulant medication?

Answer
Peter,

It can be glucose intolerance - did your doctor send you to the glucose load test, when they give you, first thing in the morning, a glass of glucose solution and than draw blood every 30 minutes? It also can be insulin resistance, which also require special test. As to the stimulant medication, it depends on what this medication is and for what purpose you are prescribed it, is this ADD as you wrote in the subject line? If yes, you'd be better off seriously cutting down on sweets.
