Dear Cari,
I am a 13 year old girl from the United Kingdom and I wiegh 10 stone 3 lbs which kind of sucks for me since most of my friends are thin. Not thin-thin but just thin as in healthy. I wouldn't say I'm healthy. I am a very picky eater and I only eat waffles, chips, rice, garlic bread and pizza. Thats all, really, including bread. When I was younger I used to eat potatoes, spagetie, pasta, sweetcorn, now just the thought of eating them makes me feel sick, yet I still ask my mother to put some on my plate. she never does which i hate. I can't cook myself as last time i did i nearly burnt the house down but no matter how much i ask my mam, she says she will but doesnt. So, i decided to exercise more instead. I often go out with my friends to the metro centre and to the town. I often ask if we could walk to Newcastle as we live just next to it in Gateshead but they literally laugh in my face. im not goin withouht them, so i take the bus, too, although to get to the town, all we need to do is cross the tyne bridge. its not that hard! So i try exercise at home but i get bored and end up goin on my laptop or watching tv instead. Do you know how to make exercise more fun? Since i live in the uk the weather isnt the best so i dont want to go out because its freezing at the minute, so, like i said, home exercising. i have no exersise dvds and we cant afford them, so thats crossed out the list. do you know how i could lose more weight? Im after a stone off for this month ( mostly bcuz of this guy i like at skool. we get on well although we argue a lot, but those arguments seem to bring us closer :) ) but, yeah, i want to lose weight bcuz im self concious, like a guy and all my friends are thin. Thanks x

It sounds like you have a good sensible head on your shoulders.  Here are some links to articles I've written about making exercise fun and believe me there are LOTS of ways you do be more active right at home.  You can put on music and dance, you can use canned food as weights etc...
