salad dressing

Question
Hi. Can you tell me what a serving of salad dressing is? I know on the bottle it says 2 tbs., but how many cups of salad is that for? I think I read somewhere that it should be 2 tbs. per cup of salad. Is that true? Thanks

Answer
Danielle,

The purpose of specifying the serving size of dressing is only so you can measure how many calories (grams of fat, other nutrients) you are consuming.
I'm sure many people use 2 or 3 times this much.  You should just measure what you use, and then multiply as necessary :)

It also depends on how dry or wet you like your lettuce, and how you dress your salad.
Some tips and tricks, instead of pouring it on (which makes for a greater amount as a result) are to dip each forkful into a small cup of dressing on the side, or to dip your fork into a small cup of dressing before forking the lettuce (which gets a much smaller amount in as a result).
