Could this be my diet?

Question
Hello,
My name is Rosemary and I am 67 years old.  For the past 15 months I have had only what I can describe as a sour/bitter taste in my mouth and I am at the stage now where it is driving me crazy and it is quite depressing.  Just some background information for you.  I take 30mg per day of Lanzoprazole and take one puff of a brown inhaler each day when required.  I also take a cod liver oil tablet each day.  I have had a pallet for my top set for 30 years, which I renewed lately to see if this was the cause of the taste ?it wasn抰.
During the night if I wake up, I have no bad taste whatsoever.  When I get up on a morning my mouth feels like sandpaper.  I brush my teeth when I get up, but shortly after that the taste develops.
The taste comes from various places, sometimes I cannot pinpoint it.  It is like an acidic, bitter/sour taste that can be at the back of my tongue, the front of my teeth along the gums and I can also taste it is I take my pallet out and rub my tongue along the top of my gums.  I have tried various web searches and tried to pinpoint what causes the taste by stopping eating various foods / drinks for a while which has had no effect.  I have tried mouthwashes, brushing teeth during the day.
I have seen my doctor a few times, my dentist, Ear Nose and Throat Specialist and even been to my dental hospital ?none can offer a solution.  The only pointer I had was that it 揷ould be a chemical imbalance in my saliva?  The only time I do not feel the foul taste is when I eat or chew gum.  I am at a complete loss.  Please can someone help me and let me know what could be causing this horrible sour taste and how I can get rid of it?  I look forward to your reply.
Rosemary.

Answer
Hi Rosemary,

I'm not a doctor or an expert in this area, however I would like to share my opinion for you to consider.

Asians strongly believe that we need to balance the ying and yang of our food to maintain good health. Yang foods are rich in protein such as meat, dairy products and fried food.  Yin foods are rich in water such as fruits and vegetables. In Asia, we always eat fruit to "wash away" the aftertaste of a rich (yang) meal. I would suggest you to eat "ying" fruits during the day such as apple, banana, orange and pear and see if the symptons reduced.

Also understand that as we aged, our body change and certain taste receptors in our mouth might become stronger/weaker. Drink plenty of water and if possible reduced your intake of "yang" foods.

Best wishes,
