Dear mr. stevens,

The other day (saturday) I had a "cheat" day where I had cheesecake and some cookies. I was 147 before and am now 152! Is this due to the sodium from the sweets? I had not eaten this stuff in such a long time. I'm pretty athletic and it worries me about the weight gain. I know it is probably not fat though.

Its simply sugar (glycogen) and water from the food stored in your muscles. not the sodium and if your athletic and active you should NOT be cutting your sodium out you need it. It is a must for those of us who are active and very healthy.

Its again just stored glycogen and water with it as for every gram of glycogen we store 3 ( i think it is) grams of water. You likely were heavier but looked leaner and larger after the carb load and my bet would be the next time you did soemthing athletic your performance was raised.
