fat intake while dieting

Question
Dear Phil, in my effort to lose weight I was wondering what happens when one is on a caloric deficit diet but still consumes more fat. I mean when the amount of fat consumed accounts for more than 30% of the total calorie intake. Does it mean that fat will be automatically stored as fat even if we are on caloric deficit so no weight loss will occur? I like my olive oil!
Thank you so much for your time

Answer
No not at all and the opposite. There is no direct link to dietary fat and body fat and there is a lot of evidence that one can eat more fat to lose more body fat. there is a more direct link to body fat from simple carbohydrates then from dietary fat.

You should read up on Dr Mauro DiPasquale's research and book, many writings by my colleagues Dr. Lonnie Lowery and Cassandra Foresythe
