Help with weight loss

Question
I was wondering whether you would be able to help me? I have just started a new fitness regime of around 5 hours per day including running, riding, walking, elliptical, skipping etc. What i can't seem to understand is that i have not lost weight or inches. I recently tried on a pair of jeans that fitted find prior to this when i was doing around 2 hours exercise per day and consuming more calories. I currently eat around 300 calories per day and am still not losing. Can you please help me as to why i might not be losing weight? I understand the whole energy input/output and that 3500 is 1 pound so statistically i should be losing weight.

Answer
Hi Elle,
I am very concerned about your methods. 5 hours of daily exercise is excessive and eating only 300 calories is a starvation diet. This is not healthy. It doesn't provide the nutrition that your body needs to function and can be dangerous.

I don't know your height, weight or age, but in general a person needs at least 1200-1500 calories. Even on a weight loss diet. In addition to the extremely low calorie intake, your 5 hours of exercise is excessive if done on a daily basis. One hour a day is more reasonable. You have not lost weight or inches because your body has most likely switched to "starvation" mode. It doesn't know you want to lose weight. It thinks because of the drastic caloric intake and high caloric output that you are starving. Your metabolism slows.

I would highy recommend that you contact your physician, a registered dietitian or other health professional as soon as possible to discuss this issue with them. And, please...go eat something.
