Question
QUESTION: Hi
For the past 3 months i've been trying to lose wieght. I've only been eating about 1500 cal a day give or take and working out min 3-4 days 15 min-1hour. i'm havinig a tough time trying to shead the pounds off. I'm not any certain diet cause i was told that if you exclude certain food you'll only fail. I eat alot of veggie but i seem to want sugar everyday. i really want to lose about 30 lbs in 10 months (thats when my wedding is). What can i do to help speed up the proccess but in a healthy way?

ANSWER: A calorie is not a calorie.

Id say your problem is your eating not enough and of all the wrong foods if I had to guess.

the first thing I would do for you or any client is change your view of foods and what your eating. make you get a nutritional foundation in real whole unpackaged foods.

Food you can find outside. meat, eggs, nuts, oils, dairy, butter, lots of green veggies and some fruit. I would base your intake first on healthy complete proteins and fats then tack on the carbs from mainly green veggies and fruit. Stay away from the sugar and junk like bagels, breads crackers and cereals except maybe one meal a week you allow yourself.

real whole foods will allow you to eat more in density and caloires yet your will burn more and get more out of it.

losing fat is 90% what goes in your mouth and 10% what we do. I would get it worked out first and just try and be active with your exercise and then we'd work on fine tuning that to a more resistance training base with cardio as more of an after thought. Some nice relaxing wlaks then at anytime can be great for anyone, no goals just walking.

QUESTION: ok so how to i stay away from suagr. It just seems to get into my head and i wont stop thinking about that treat until i have one. So when i think of real whole food when i shop is go to the produce deparment and meat and avoid the middle area? what can i do about cravings?

Answer
To put it bluntly you need to man up and take your life in your own hands, cravings are just that. Are you not stronger than food? It's an inanimate object.

One thing you can do is try sugar free jello. Its basically calorie free. Other then that the best thing is go cold turkey and get your taste back for real food and realize how sweet an apple really is etc.
