body fat reduction

Question
I'm about to start a diet/fitness program to reduce my body fat (I'm about 11% and want to get down to..4-6%)I want to see my abs..
I'm in decent shape and my job can be semi-strenuous.
I've been eating well for a while (lots of brown rice, beans, veggies and fish)but my middle seems to stay...pudgy.
I do pushups and crunches and I walk at least an extra mile a day.
My actual question is...Could carbohydrates be the problem,as in maybe sweet yellow corn (I love the stuff#? If not,Could my Doctor be right #he dismisses my pudge as 'just my age') I Am 47 but have always been thin,I'm not getting a pot belly, just a bit of..well...pudge.I see these guys with impressive '6 packs'and Say to myself "How?" I'm no athlete, but, I'm no couch potato. How do they do it?

Answer
4-6% is damn low and if your carrying any appreciable amount of muscle 10% and the abs should start to be pretty damn visible. You might think about that and about maybe taking up more serious training with heavy loads to gains muscle first as you may look pretty damn skeletal at 4-6% and that low of a BF is not sustainable health wise.

But yes I think its your food choices, your to reliant on low fat carb rich food, not getting near enough good healthy fats that help you burn fat. Like with any client I would have you base your intake on fat and protein first and we would adjust the carbs to your goals of shedding BF or gaining size. i really think a lot could be your lack of fat intake there are in fats alone 3 essential fatty acids that we MUST intake just to stay healthy.

You can do this 4-6% I think is a fun goal and everyone should aim to get there once in their life just to show they have the discipline to do it. You learn a lot form the adventure. just no getting their isn't fun and its not sustainable long term and being healthy. Your going to have to make the choice and accept the negative to get there for the short term
