Rugby union diet.

Question
Hi Phil.
I have a query I hope u would be able to help me with.
I play rugby union in Australia and would like some advice for a diet. I'm currently mid season and trying to put on a few kilos of muscle. I currently weigh 91 kilos but would like to get to around 95. My biggest problem is whenever I put on a kilo or two I lose it strait away and I'm thinking it's got to do with the inconsistency in my diet.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Dylan.

Answer
Yes it sounds like you eat to gain and then back off and lose it again. I wish there was a secret but there isn't to this, you need to eat and then keep that up long term once you have gained the weight. It takes fuel to put it on and to keep the new weight on.

An easy way if you want is simply eat exactly as you have been and add milk on top of what your doing, or peanut butter. Not instead of but onto. Add a half gallon of milk a day or half jar of PB plus your normal food and see what that does. Other easy things are simply digested carbohydrates sugars and starches.

What ever it is you need to get and and stay in a calories surplus, if you get more active know that means you need to eat even more.

I have the same problem at times just dropped 25 lbs without trying just from slacking off the eating a bit. Sometimes the biggest hardest battle is with the knife and fork.
