buldges of thigh n belly

Question
hi,

im normal weight with bmi 20. but the problem is my stomach n thighs just accumulates fats...i'm wondering if taking extra fibre can help me reduce those fats. like oats maybe? will they absorbed fats from those areas too apart from those in your blood? can exercise help to reduce fats in those area?

Answer
Hi Pam,

No, unfortunately there is nothing that can "spot reduce" or get rid of fat in a specific area. There is liposuction which physically removes fat cells by breaking them up and sucking them out, but this is a somewhat painful procedure and costly of course.
There are no foods, drinks, or herbs that will remove fat from the body (oats do help remove some cholesterol from the blood, which is what you may have heard).

Your stomach and thighs naturally retain more fat than other body parts--it's just the genetics of being a woman!
