weight loss explained?

Question
Hello there, i have put on a bit of weight lately and im wondering how to lose it again. I didnt have a job before and i used jope ropes twiced per day ( 30 mins ) and done nothing else which made me lose weight eating 1200 calories per day.

Now i have two jobs and im burning 970 calories per day while walking to work once aswell. I use a pedometer to find out how many im burning, im also using the jump ropes once per day for 15 mins only, im eating 1600 calories max.

How would i lose weight? i have just started walking to work and jope rope once per day for 15 mins this week again so hopefully i will see results soon, im just wondering how many calories do you think i should be eating?

If i burn 970 calories a day with my job and walking to work does that mean i need to burn more for weight loss? do i need to burn more then im actually eating such as 1600 calories?

im 22 years old and im 138 pounds, i was 112lbs and i would love to get back to this, how long do you think it would take me? and do you have any advise? im also 5feet5.

Hope to hear back from you soon, kind regards
nicole

Answer
At your current weight you BMI is 23, which is normal. If you where to go down to 112lbs your BMI would be 18.6 which is near to being underweight. I would say that you may need might only lose ten pounds and tighten up at the gym. I would also tell you to go to a gym that has a person who has a RMR machine (RESTING Metabolic Rate), you  need this done because you need to know how many calories your body uses without any exercise. This number is helpful when trying to lose weight. As for exercise 30 minutes of cardio on most days of the week is needed, you should also do 3-4 days per week of light weight lifting for 20 -30 minutes each day.

Good luck
