How to grow taller

Question
QUESTION: Hi there,

This is a question about an exclusive diet i have had recently and it's possible affects on a teenage male (me) in relation to growth..

Ok,

I've just turned 19, i'm male, i believe im nearing the end of my final growth spurt (i only really BEGAN puberty at 16). I've spent the past 6 weeks living in a tent with 2 other friends in small town on a budget (about 5 hundred dollars i've saved) eating an exclusive diet.
What i mean by exclusive is cutting out all other foods and focussing on a certain few, and eating them pretty much obsessively to get by.
My exclusive diet has consisted of only milk and white bread and special k cereal (17.4 grams of protein for every 100 grams). No cooked meals of any sort.
I know this sounds irrational but it is the truth.
Unfortunately i have been very disciplined about this exclusive diet.
My concern is that i may have done damage to myself, in the sense that i may have stunted some of or the remaining growth i have left.

Do you think this may be the case? What can you tell me about this kind of situation for a teen and it's effects in relation to bone growth?

I understand that symptoms of malnutrition include things like your hair falling out or breaking and dull skin, which i don't believe i have, although i have felt somewhat weary at times.

I look forward to reading your response.
Thanks a lot for reading this.

Regards
Michael.

ANSWER: Dear Michael,

A healthy young man can hardly be hurt by the way of eating you described. The body is rather sturdy a thing. Even lacking quite a few nutrients for the period of tie you did it is rather safe. But if I were you, I would try to go back to rational eating style. Your concern about growth is a different story. You might want to consider taking certain measures to keep the growth period longer and gain a few more centimeters to your height. Ask me about details if this is the point. My oldest sun kept growing until he was 25.

QUESTION: Hi again, thanks a lot for your advice and information.
That last part you mentioned i am very interested in hearing about;
"You might want to consider taking certain measures to keep the growth period longer and gain a few more centimeters to your height. Ask me about details if this is the point. My oldest sun kept growing until he was 25."

Can you please explain this part to me? Thanks.

Answer
Michael,

I can tell you about my son experience and give you some reference to read about the latest development.

First of all, we arranged that in strategic places of our apartment and summer house he would be able to hang while relaxed. We had a special rode fixed at 2 meter height even in the bathroom. He also learn how to automatically jump up to reach a branch, a top of a tall fence, etc., so he stretched his spinal column while in active movement. He did standard stretching exercises including some yoga asanas. I used to make it sure he had enough of protein-rich food and do sports: downhill skiing and martial arts. From his 19 to 25, he grew 5.5 cm taller. He also used a reflexo-therapy device now available all over the Internet as Shakti mat. I wrote a book about this technique, see https://www.createspace.com/3433792

If this would be happening now, I'd add growth hormone-releasing little tricks including insuring long and deep sleep using herbs like Valerian root, etc. General exercise also help, but he had quite enough of it since he was 7.
