Cheating

Question
I've asked you a question a few months ago when I first started my diet and you were a big help then, I hope you are now too! I lost 100lbs in all since January... then I stopped losing weight. I got bored of normal dieting and exercise, so occasionally i would change it up.

I know I over ate this week, but I really don't see how it's possible I gained 10 lbs from it.

On Sunday we were out and I had a slice of pizza, a half of a slice of cheese cake, and a wendys salad (it had 700calories in it so no it wasn't healthy) but I also was walking around all day long and when I got home I worked out some more.
I was good the rest of the week with the exception of frozen yogurt (fat free).

Friday I had ordered chinese food with people from work. I didn't have rice or a full meal. I had chicken nuggets and a shrimp roll.

Today, I was in a hurry and grabbed another 700 calorie salad from wendys. But, I spent 8 hours painting my room, so it's not like I sat on my butt and did nothing all day letting the calories build up.

Do I really just have to eat lettuce and drink water the rest of my life if I want to be healthy? I mean I work out and exercise A LOT now. EVERY day, even if it's just 30 mins one day and 45-60mins the next. I keep myself active..What should I do?!

Answer
Keeping the weight off isn't always easy for everyone. A lot of it depends on your metabolism. Staying thin is a lifestyle change for a lot of people.

Take me, for instance. I lost over 100 pounds by exercising an hour a day and eating low calorie foods. I reached my weight goal and then relaxed my diet, and some of the weight came back on. That's just how it is.

You have to find a comfortable balance between losing weight, keeping it off, and eating the foods you want. I try to live by the 80/20 rule. I eat right and exercise 80% of the time and relax 20%.

You can't live your WHOLE life on a weight-loss plan. Find your balance.
