What to do..??

Question
Hey Cari :)
I'm a 15 year old girl, I'm 5 5" and I weigh 133 lbs.  I'm also Mixed Nigerian-Canadian and my butt I guess you could say is naturally larger than average(I get it from my dads side lol). I looked up what my Ideal weight should be (Around 122Lbs) but the sights that I checked out don't accuratly fit with African-American women because we usually have more muscle mass than some caucasian women. But thats just my view :/

Anywho.. I only want to lose about 4 or 5 lbs in my trouble areas which are my thighs, butt and lower stomach areas. I have massive thunder thighs that are mostly muscle, but my inner thies have about 3/4 to and inch of fat that bugs the heck out of me! Really, all my trouble areas have this layer of fat that seems to never go away no matter what I do. In P.E class we do 1 min 40 second planks, 35+ push-ups and we run around the school drive way 3 times (Which adds up to about 2k, up and down hill) I also joined the track team ( The season is over now though) and we did a variety of exercises like running, sit-ups, wall ups, squats ect.. 2-3 times a week. It helped a bit but that layer is still there! I eat pretty healthy. I'll usually have some toast in the morning or looooots of water Lol
For Lunch I'll have a school bought lunch (Hamburger or rice/noodles with Veggies) or an eggsalad sandwich and dinner is pasta with Veggies. I drink a crapload of water through out the day. Before school I'll have at least a glass, at school I'll raid the water fountains and at home I'll drink about 5-6 glasses and I'll carry my water bottle aroound the house with me and sip it occasionally. So my question is, Why can't I lose that fat around my thies, stomach and Butt?? Should I be doing something extra? Should I stop doing something?
Thanks for your help :)

Answer
Hi Tera (pretty name by the way)

African women (I'm from South Africa) genetically have larger butts and thighs (as you've already pointed out you get this from your Dad who I'm guessing must be the Nigerian half).  If you lived in Africa instead of Canada, you probably wouldn't be worried about being larger in these areas because you'd fit into the cultural idea of what is 'normal.'  But living in the Western world, we have very rigid ideas about what a body size and shape needs to be in order to be acceptable and that's a shame because the Great Creator didn't make us all one size and one shape ( http://www.ditch-diets-live-light.com/one-size-fits-all.html ).  You sound like a very sensible (and knowlegible) young lady who is doing a lot right and I think you'll land up driving yourself nuts if you allow what is genetic to stand in your way of knowing that you're OK exactly as you were put onto this earth.  It sounds like you need a mental make-over (http://www.ditch-diets-live-light.com/mental-diet.html ) rather than a body make-over, so that you can live comfortably in your own skin and body shape.... and ps you are right, muscle weighs more than fat does so those tables you're consulting might not be right for you.  Because it sounds to me like you're fit and not fat ( http://www.ditch-diets-live-light.com/fit-vs-fat.html ).

I hope those references I've sent you to help you love comfortably with who you naturally are.
Kind regards
Cari
