I am 15 years old, 5'11", and I am a very active athlete. I have been on a diet for about three weeks and I haven't lost any fat!!
I play competitive volleyball(2.5 hrs), do 200 crunches and 40 pushups- 5 days a week. And over the weekend I do "Jackie-power circuit" excercise dvd. I also run the 800m and throw discus(in the spring season).
I do NOT eat alot for my size. Why is it that I have extra fat even though I excercise and eat right, while someone that doesnt excercise and doesnt eat right can be skinny?!! What more do I need to do?
Here are a couple of things I'd take into consideration:
1) Everyone has different body shapes and sizes. For example, I'm short and kinda squat.... doens't matter how much I wish I were teeny - it's just not going to happen. At 5'11 you're quite tall for a girl but I notice from your picture (if this is you) that your posture won't do much to help how you look and feel. Try standing at your full length and straightening out your shoulders which will automatically help your body align itself better and you will look more graceful. I know that when you're tall it can become a habit to slump so as to make yourself look shorter, but it also makes your tummy stick out. But love your height, it can be a fabulous asset.
Also remember that muscle weight more than fat does on a scale - about 3 times as much as fat. So you can be converting fat into muscle and yet appear to be gaining weight initially. You can read more about being fit vs being fat at http://www.ditch-diets-live-light.com/fit-vs-fat.html
The other thing is to stop comparing yourself to others - you are uniquely you, maybe you need a mind makeover
http://www.ditch-diets-live-light.com/mental-diet.html more than you need a body make-over.
And don't do anything more than you do do, just keep at what you do do and enjoy it - doing more could push you over the edge to become exercise bulimic and that won't do you any good in the long run:
Take care and good luck
