Need to lose weight .... badly

Question
Hi,

I need to lose about 55 kg (more or less) in order to be fit for my age group... as a female.

How should I do it? What sort of exercises should I do (I am the very definition of couch potato; last exercise was about two or three years ago. Also, I have never went to the gym before- all my exercises involved the treadmill)? And what is the time frame for me to lose that weight - within healthy limits?

Please advise!

P.s..
I do online education....so I don't have time to go out often.

Answer
Hi Aliana,

To lose weight, you want to eat foods that are rich in fiber and resistant starches such as basmati rice, beans, lentils etc because these foods resist digestion and can't be absorbed by the body.

If you don't have time to exercise, the most efficient exercise is strength training as I taught in my book, Asian Slim Secrets. Even 5-10 minutes of strength training can help you lose weight & stay slim for life.
