Not eating before bed

Question
Lawrence
Supposedly its not when you eat but how much over a day you eat.
I recently tried an experimant and I found if I eat a big brunch, a light supper, and nothing in the evening, I lose weight a lot faster.
My friend says your metabolism slows down in the evening and at night (makes sense)
What do you think?

Answer
The old saying you are what you eat is very true sad to say, but as for your metabolism slowing down at night, that is not true. Your metabolism is usually pretty constant. The truth about eating at night is that if you are sleeping or relaxing on the couch before bed you are not burning the same amount of calories as if you where at work or shopping at the Food store. The lack of movement is the factor you need to concern yourself with. The more you move the more calories you burn the less calories have a chance to turn into extra pounds. As for eating you should eat 5 small meals throughout the day in order to keep you body fed, this will help to control your appetite. Do not skip meals. Get your proper amount of Protein,Fiber,Fats, and Carbs. Also if you want to learn what your specific BMR is (basal metabolic rate) which is your metabolism  there is a machine test that you can take that measure your oxygen levels which will give you an accurate personal metabolism. From this number you will know how many calories you burn every day at rest.
